Shipping Information

Third Party Shipping
Sofia’s partners with our distributor customers to ship third party via UPS or FedEx. USPS is used for Sofia’s Chunky Mail only, at current First-Class Prepaid Postage rates. Please provide the address associated with the shipper number for all shipments.
Bulk, Drop Ship (US and International), and Sofia’s Chunky Mail (US only) shipping are all available. Bulk shipments may be subject to additional shipping carton charges based on quantity thresholds.

LTL Shipments
LTL shipments are to be organized and communicated by the Distributor to Sofia’s at your earliest convenience. Sofia’s will provide DIMS for scheduling and Bill of Lading needs. Freight classification of any components for all kitting projects not supplied by Sofia’s must be supplied by the distributor partner to the logistics company.
Sofia’s is not responsible for shipment once an order leaves our facility.

Chunky Mail
By choosing to ship via USPS, you grant Sofia’s permission to enable Address Correction/Move Update data provided by USPS data file. USPS postage prices are subject to change, confirm rates at time of order.

International Shipping
Sofia’s provides international shipping. Every country has different shipping regulations, see Carrier websites for country-specific food and kitting item(s) restrictions. See below for additional information required for international addresses.

Customs Clearance
At times, shipments are selected for clearance, often at random. Customs clearance is the process of obtaining permission from the associated government agency to either move goods out of a country (export) or bring goods into the country (import). 

No Carrier has control over which package will be selected for Customs Clearance. As Sofia’s ships third party only, Distributors are responsible for assisting Customs Clearance in Canada and Worldwide

The recipient is typically the first point of contact via the phone number required for each address. Charges based on applicable taxes, duties or fees based on the package value may be applied.

In order to clear Customs, one of the following may be required:

  1. Clear shipment through a Customs Broker

  2. Hire a UPS/Fedex Brokers to release shipment

  3. Abandon shipment/return shipment to sender, for which any fees incurred will be billed to the Distributor per Sofia’s Shipping Return Policy (noted on every invoice)

Additional Per Country Requirements
Please note, beginning March 1, 2023, all goods being shipped into or transiting through the EU*, Northern Ireland, Norway and Switzerland by air will require the following in addition to each item’s HTS Codes (based on product classification codes between 8-10 digits; provided by Sofia’s for our product/ required for Distributor Kitting Items)

  • A minimum six-digit Harmonized System (HS) code for each item in the shipment

  • Accurate goods description for each item in the shipment

  • The receiver's Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number
